CAT stands for Common Admission Test started by IIM (Indian Institutes of Management). The exam CAT is a computer based stanardized test and is conducted every year (in the months of October and November) by one of the IIM's based on the rotation policy for admission to various Management Programmes of IIMs, IITs, IISc,NITs, FMS and other Institutions.
